Muse: Ebube Anochili “How could you let her out of your sight, Obinwanne?” Chike barked on the phone. Obi was still nursing the bump on his head. His boys hadn’t moved fast enough to follow Kosarachi and the stupid guy that was with her. He had thought of a lot ways to inflict excruciating pain on him. “It won’t happen again boss, we’ll find her,” he said. “Ten years, Obi, it’s taken 10 years to actually find her and you let her slip through your fingers,” Chike’s tone was menacing. Obi sighed, he knew that tone, “I’m sorry, boss, I’ll get her for you. I found her the first time, I’ll do it again.” “You better, don’t come back here without her,” Chike hung up and touched the scar on his face again. He remembered how he used to force himself inside Kosarachi, his cousin’s only child. She was so small, and that was the fun of it. His cousin had gotten married to a man he knew nothing about. The man had left her and she had moved back to Onitsha with her daughter. Then she had died and

Nifemi tapped away on his keyboard. He was programming a racing game he named “Street race”. The name sounded lame but he loved it. Working was better than looking at the lady opposite him. She was near, yet so far away. Everything was different now, worse than it was when she was still secretive. She had built a brick wall since the morning after her birthday. What bothered him the most was he felt like she cast a spell on him. He couldn’t get her off his mind. He had seen a calmer version of her, a more reserved version of her. But she had pushed him away. It was almost like she was another person that morning. They had had a great time on her birthday but she didn’t want to talk about it, or talk about anything other than work.  All he could think of was her laughter, her voice. Her smile whenever something of interest came her way. He could remember the kisses they shared, her long slender legs round him. He could still taste her. He could still feel her body cuddled to him. When

Picture: gotten from the movie "The photograph"  The sun rose majestically in the sky and brightened the day. It also stayed glued to the sky till evening, giving the earthlings its light and beauty freely. It was Sara’s birthday and it was also a Saturday. Kosarachi had fabricated this day for Sara, to protect her identity and so, she never celebrated it, or her real birthday. The past weeks had gone by like a blur. Nifemi had begun to trust her but they didn’t get to see outside the office so often. Raven was back and inasmuch as Sara wanted the attention, Kosarachi understood. That’s why she was surprised when Nifemi called her at about 4pm when she was listening to Trey Songz “say ah”. “Hi”, she answered. “Happy birthday Sara”, Nifemi said. “Err, thank you”, Sara replied. When last had someone wished her happy birthday? She couldn’t remember. “Where are you?” he asked her. “I’m home”, Sara answered. “You can’t be serious, it’s your birthday young lady, you should be havin

Muse: Oluchi Joan Lambert, my dancer baby 🤗 Nifemi checked the time on his gold wristwatch. It was about 7:30pm. The hangout was for 7:45pm but he wanted to be there before Sara. He wanted to beat her at arriving early. He also wanted to give a good impression, it wasn’t every day Sara Williams asked someone to hangout with her. He took a sip of the drink he had ordered at the bar. He also sat at the bar because he enjoyed watching the mixologist/bartender play with the drinks at his disposal. He watched the pretty waitresses take drinks to the tables. The DJ played soft music which made the evening calm and cool. Nifemi noticed some of the customers sitting at their own tables, eating fresh fish pepper soup, asun , goat meat, nkwobi and drinking. Some of the men had potbellies and looked older than the ladies with them. Some tables had just females, probably catching up on old times. Other tables had mostly only males, arguing about football or talking about girls. A larger table
