Photo: Google Kosarachi stared back at Chike as he stared at her. Her entire body was in pain, but some how, she had gotten accustomed to it. Unknown to Chike, she had regained some strength. Her switch from Kosarachi to Sara, then back to Kosarachi had been rapid during the past hours.  She looked Chike in the eyes again. This man had made her hide her identity. This man had made her afraid to be who she was. This man had made her run almost her entire life. And here he was, right in front of her, scared too. Everything that had happened to her, was because of him. Well part of it. Her father had a hand in it, but at least he was trying to make amends. Chike, however, wasn’t trying to make amends. He still hated her. He still wanted to see her suffer. What did she ever do to him to deserve such scorn?  She didn’t want him to get away with the car the police would give him just to keep her alive. She knew he wouldn’t let her leave here alive too and she wasn’t going to let another pe

Bound  Where did you get this flash, Chief?” The IG asked Emenike, going through the flash that Sara had given them on his computer. They were in his own residence, in his office. It wasn’t difficult to get a private meeting with him since Emenike was a friend. “Does it matter where he got it from? What matters is we have it and we’re wasting time. Someone or two people could be dead now,” Nifemi retorted, resting his palm on the IG's desk. Staring at him. The IG stared right back at the young man from where he sat. He didn’t know him but he wouldn’t tolerate disrespect even if he came with Chief. He was about to give him a piece of his mind before Emenike intervened. “Inspector, forgive his tone. But he is right. You have evidence to apprehend this Chike right here. And he has my daughter and another civilian. We need to make a move now before they’re hurt.” “He has Ada?” The IG was stunned. “No, not Ada,” Emenike sighed.  “It’s a long story inspector, but he has my daughter. I

She’s not here. We need to leave now!” “Take it easy young man—” “No, I’m not taking it easy. We shouldn’t take it easy. We have to go find her before she gets to Chike because I know she's going to him.” “What’s going on here?” Sandra asked, holding a tray of food. They were in the dining room in the house. “Kosara is gone,” Emenike simply said. He took out his phone and dialed a number. Sandra dropped the tray on the dining table and sat down. She had met her husband’s lost daughter the night before. Now the lady had disappeared again. Did she want to stay hidden forever? “I don’t understand. Why would she leave? Wasn’t I nice enough? Wasn’t I accommodating?” “This isn’t about you ma'am,” Nifemi tried to reassure Sandra, “it’s about something much more.” Emenike ended the call and spoke to

Picture: somewhere in Kubwa, Abuja Emenike Igwe was a wealthy and successful man. He had worked hard to get to where he was. He was proud of what he had achieved but what he was most proud of was his family. His wife Sandra and their two kids, Adaobi and Emenike Jr. He only had one regret in his life and that was abandoning his first wife and their daughter. They had had their differences, he wanted to move to Abuja after getting a job and she wanted to stay back in Nimo. He wasn’t happy being simple and he had walked out on her without looking back. Years later, his daughter finds him and even though he knew she was telling the truth, he didn’t want anything to do with her. His reputation as a good and honorable man was too important to him. Then she had blackmailed him, he’d give it to her, he was impressed by her boldness, something she definitely inherited from him. He had agreed to settle her, pay her school fees and take care of her. It was the least he could do after leaving h
